Keep Up-To-Date With The Latest Instagram Social Hacks
In the ever-evolving world of social media, it can sometimes be hard to keep up. Which is why we’ve put together the latest Instagram social hacks to keep you up to date and in the know!
Instagram Reels
What’s it all *reel*y about?
Instagram Reels offers a new way to share short video clips of up to 15 seconds, inside the Instagram app. With this addition, there are now five placements you can utilise for your business – Posts, Stories, Live, IGTV and Reels, so prioritise what already works before changing up your strategy.
They’re easy to create and also quick to consume, meaning viewers can get to know your brand in a short space of time. They are permanent content and can help portray brand personality or identity.
Although this is a new feature, not all of your followers will be using Reels at the moment or know where to find them. Navigate to the Reels feed via the Explore page, you can then scroll through the top Reels feed, like, comment and add Reels to your stories. To create Reels content, head to your in-app Instagram camera and utilise previous clips, add effects, music filters and much more.
With the ability to add engaging captions and up to 30 hashtags per Reel, they can reach a greater audience and have more potential visibility with Instagram favouring them in their recent algorithm update.
Reels are a great new function to explore and utilise as a business, but take your time to work out how they fit with your business strategy.

2. Instagram Auto-Captioning for IGTV
Instagram has just launched a new accessibility feature that automatically adds captions to IGTV videos in 16 languages. This is an incredible addition enables profiles to be more inclusive for your Instagram community, but can also boost engagement.
Why should you turn on IGTV auto-captioning?
- Accessibility
According to the World Health Organisation via Facebook, over 5% of the world’s population – or 466 million people – have disabling hearing loss. By utilising IGTV auto-captioning your business content is more accessible for those who are deaf or hard of hearing to engage with. - Higher Engagement
The amount of video content online has grown exponentially, with 85% of video on Facebook being watched with no sound. So making your content digestible without audio is a no brainer. - Higher Video Traffic
IGTV previews have already been shown to increase video views, so adding auto-captioning will be the perfect pairing. With an increased likelihood of people tapping the ‘Keep watching’ button, you’re likely to see longer viewing times and more overall engagement.
3. Instagram Reels & Shop Tabs
With the recent launch of Reels and Shops, Instagram is now starting to test dedicated tabs for both on the main, in-app navigation bar. At the moment this has only been rolled out in India, but here’s a look at three variations of how Instagram could look for us in the near future.
